A Poem of Passion

Would I be here in the morning
If tonight still leaves me in a far-off land
For the time I lay beside you is a’stormin’
And I know my mind has lost it’s way again

For I loved your warm body in the moonlight
‘Neath the twinkling laughter of a peeping star
And your body reached for mine softly calling
I knew that through this night the world was ours

For you cried out so softly as I loved you
Loved every single part of you I owned
And once again we rose above the hour
As I fell a’tumblin’ to where all men were born

As I gaze upon you lyin’ on my bedside
My heart has stopped, then races to my brain
I reach for you enfolded in your warmin’
As we leave the world in loves true call again
